As a fitness professional and a mother of 3 teenagers, Chris understands firsthand the challenges of balancing healthy habits with the demands of a busy life. “It is hard to find time to get in shape and it’s even harder to find the motivation to stay in shape! I am passionate about helping others stay healthy and fit! Fitness is not just a job for me – it’s my life!
Yes, Chris has always been a high energy extrovert! “I get energized from being with others!” She began her career in fitness as an aerobics instructor. I was athletic my whole adolescent life. Once I discovered group fitness classes – I was hooked!
She has continued a quest to help others and has spent the last 17 years actively engaged in continuing to determine what works and what doesn’t. Chris has a B.A. in journalism, as well as numerous fitness certifications and is a continuing education provider to the health and wellness industry. “Being a journalist at heart, I can’t help but absorb information. As something new comes into the fitness and nutrition scene, I am committed to learning about it correctly so I can share the important parts with others.”
Chris is best known on a national level as the Fitness Expert and Contributing Editor of Prevention Magazine. Chris’ workouts have been featured in many magazines, newspapers and TV shows. Her Prevention Fitness Systems DVD’s and other DVD’s are sold at retail and on-line. She currently teaches classes part time at Lifetime Fitness in Minnesota but also has her own company, Motivating Bodies, Inc. , an fitness coaching program offering personal training, Pilates, nutritional consulting and motivational speaking. “My goal is to inspire people to take action and get moving! Over the years, I have learned that the best way to stay in shape is to make it your lifestyle not a quick fix. The Motivating Bodies™ Program incorporates movement, sound nutrition and positive thinking.”
As dynamic and motivational as Chris can be, her proudest accomplishment is raising her 3 children with her husband, Jim. Being a mother is fun, exciting, challenging and unpredictable. The kids admire mom’s achievements but often wish she wasn’t such a health food nut! Fitness is her passion but her family will always come first! Naturally, her kids and husband are sports enthusiasts and they love to be active!
